It's All Over......For Now !!!

A good time was had by all. Sounds trite, but it's true.

Our thanks to the committee and the other volunteers that made it happen. Friday night at Manker-Patten was great. A good time to meet and re-acquaint with classmates. Some we hadn't seen in 50 years. And the food was great - thanks to Carrabba's.

For some, the tour of the old "city high", was the first time they had been in the school since graduation. Brought back a lot of memories. Not all great, but time has a way of making us forget the bad and remember the good. Like cafeteria food, planting rose bushes, and detentions. I think the auditorium brought back the most memories. It's where we shared events as a group, the whole school, not just our class or our little "clique".

Saturday night at The Chattanooga Golf and Country Club was the highlight of the reunion weekend. We had 144 classmates and spouses for the reception and dinner. A cocktail reception before a great dinner set the tone for an evening of music and dancing.

For those of you that were unable to attend we are still accepting orders for a class picture-$10.00, A DVD with pictures of the weekend-$30.00, A DVD with video highlights of the weekend-$30.00.

To order send a check to CHS60, P.O. Box 21981, Chattanooga, TN 37424-0981. Mark on the check what you are ordering (especially which DVD).

For those of you that have already ordered and prepaid we are working on the order and hope to mail soon.

If you would like to order individual pictures made at any of the events take a look at this website: http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventthumbs?event=0KPL008A

Just copy and paste to your browser. This will take you to the website of our photographer, Alex McMahan and take you directly to our reunion photos.

I have enjoyed posting about our class and the 50th reunion. I will continue to update this blogsite as news and events warrant. If you have class news you would like published e-mail it to me at NormanRMiller@yahoo.com.

I'm Disappointed

Yep. The May 1st deadline has come and gone and the reservation numbers are disappointing. So we have extended the deadline until May 26th. The cut-off date for bios is May 20 (ONE MORE WEEK) as we need time to have the CDs produced.

If you forgot, had a change of heart, or just came into money-send in that check and form.

We want you to come and have a great time. See you then!

Checks and Tables

Let me try to clear up a little confusion.

The mail in form states: "Cut and Mail this Portion with Check To: CHS 60, P. O. Box 21981, Chattanooga, TN 37424-0981."

I am the treasurer, but our bank account is under "CHS 60."

#1..CHECK SHOULD BE PAYABLE TO CHS 60.

#2..TABLES WILL SEAT 8 PEOPLE. WE ARE NOT RESERVING TABLES, BUT YOU CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE CLASSMATES YOU WANT TO SIT WITH AND CHOOSE YOUR TABLE SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE CHATTANOOGA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB.

URGENT!!! URGENT!!! URGENT!!!

Reunion reservation deadline is May 1! We need to confirm meal count numbers with the Friday (June 4th) caterer (Carrabba's) and Saturday (June 5th) Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.

Also, we need to release rooms at the DoubleTree Hotel that are being held at the special rate of $129.00/night +tax; please make room reservations as soon as possible but no later than May 1st.!!! TIME IS DRAWING NEAR!!!

Thanks to Bob Carrier, Sherry Hobbs Dahrling and Joyce Williams Brown for generous door prize donations...we could use MORE!! We need sponsorships for the dinners of faculty attending Saturday night at $50 per person (8 people), and a few more extras that the Committee is working hard to provide and make this a fun event!! We need your support! Your generous donations/sponsorships are greatly appreciated, and your name will be in the Program acknowledging the contribution (without the amount). We are adding a 2 PM Friday school tour to accommodate out-of-town classmates arriving that day.

And the days dwindle down......

Yes, it’s getting closer and closer. The big 50th is less than two months away.

Have you sent your check in?

How about a bio? You can send us your bio even if your too poor, too cheap, not interested or have a scheduling conflict. We plan to give a CD to the class of the bios.

Your bio doesn’t have to be a ”bragging” bio. Mine sure won’t be. Although I have had some successes, I’m sure I’m like most of you, ordinary, just like I was in school.

I think the greatest success is to have made it this far….and be able to attend to 50th reunion.

Keep those cards and letters coming…. Checks too!
