Are you active in social media - Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter?
I haven’t been in the past.
After all, just working each day and keeping up with the blogs I write don’t leave me much time for them. And I considered Facebook the realm of much younger adults and kids. We do use it in our business to locate borrowers that have skipped out on us. It is truly amazing what you can find about people from their social media.
My advice: If you’re hiding from creditors, don’t have a Facebook page. Even if you don’t have enough information to directly locate you, your friends will willingly give you up.
Twitter-who has the time I haven’t found anyone interesting enough to follow his or her life on an hourly basis. Not even my kids.
Then there is Linkedin.
I attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting last week where the speaker was a consultant specializing in using Linkedin as a method to promote your business. I was hooked. I sent out email to my contacts and was blown away by how many of them were already on it. The hidden gem is the ability to contact someone you don’t know through your current contacts and their contacts.
So if you have gotten a request from me to join me on Linkedin, I would appreciate you accepting it. If you are not already on it, join. I think you will be able to see the advantages of being a member.
